Portsmouth Sailing Club

After W.L. set up the Scouts he then turned his mind to forming a sailing club and in 1920 the Portsmouth Sailing Club was started. The 1st Portsmouth have been associated with it ever since. They are fully supportive of our group and we indeed keep many of our boats in their yard. We also use there facilities for changing after water activities. Any member of the 1st Portsmouth is entitled to use the Sailing Club. In our hour of need the club was for us when we were booted out of our home in the Square Tower and had no where else to go. They allowed us to use there loft as a meeting place until we found a new home in the hut. We have our trustee meetings there as they have a lovely bar which is very keenly priced.
